Dada!

Will looked right at Scott on Saturday and said "Dada." He's done it again a couple of times. He has also looked straight at Frank and said "duh." It's so cute. We're still working on "mama," "dada," "book," "dog," etc. It's so funny when we say "mama," he'll look at me and say "mmba." I don't know if that means "mama" to him or what, but it's really cute. He just looks at us as if to say, "I'm saying it right!!"

Another funny thing that happened yesterday--Scott brought Will up to his office and when it was time for Will's nap, he put him in the playpen/crib in the cradle roll room a few doors down from his office. He went to check on him a few minutes later and Will was just playing quietly with his "softie" blanket. So Scott left. He went to check on him again a few minutes later. He said Will was leaning up against the side of the playpen (still sitting up) asleep. He was doing the whole "I'm-not-really-asleep" head nod. He just wanted to be awake and play!

It seems that Will just cannot get fully well. He was running fever again this morning. Please pray for him to finally recover completely. We just want him to feel good for once! He's such a good baby, though...even when he's sick he is so good. We are truly blessed! Hopefully, we'll be able to see an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist soon and figure out what we need to do to make our boy well. Thanks for your prayers.

****UPDATE****

Scott took Will to the doctor this morning and he has his "official" fourth ear infection in four months time. They are working on getting us in to see an ENT soon. He is on antibiotics again (he just got off them on Friday!) and she also prescribed ear drops and Singulair. We shall see how this all goes. Please pray that we can get an appointment with the ENT soon! Thanks~

Storytime

One of Will's favorite new pastimes is looking at his books. He looks at them as if he is really reading them and concentrates so hard. I caught him on camera with one of his books the other night. By the time I got my camera out, he had already been "reading" for about 15 minutes; just laying like this on the floor. He spent about 20-25 minutes doing this until he finally lost interest. It was so precious!

"I got my hairs cut!"

Here are some pictures of his very first haircut! He didn't have a lot of hair on top, but it was getting pretty long on the neck and around the ears. He did really well and didn't cry a bit! The hair dresser in the picture is Kay Bailey, one of the sweetest ladies at our church.

Also, Will is feeling a lot better. He is still coughing a bit, but is definitely on the mend. Thanks for all your prayers on his behalf.

Will is getting to be very moblie. He seems to be getting into everything on floor-level! He is still army-crawling, but gets up on his hands and knees a lot more often. Most of the time he just sits there like that and won't move anywhere, but I really think he is close to crawling on all fours. He is also starting to try and climb and pull on things, so we're not far from that milestone either. He is just growing and changing every single day. There is never a dull moment in our world!

Sick...Again

Our precious boy is sick again. This time the culprit is pneumonia! The doctor had chest x-rays done this morning and said it looked bad enough to call it pneumonia. Poor baby boy! Please keep him in your prayers. He is such a good baby--you'd hardly be able to tell he feels bad most of the time. I talked to Nana Terri (my mom) and she is going to try to come and stay with him this week. Hopefully that will work out.

On to better news--my brother is officially done with high school! He received his GED scores on Saturday and passed everything! Woo hoo! We are so excited and proud of him. He's been working toward this goal for a little over a year and his hard work has paid off. He passed it all on his first try :) Congratulations, Kendall!! He is planning on attending Texas State Technical College in the fall. One day soon he might be your trusted automotive technician!

Flip-flops!

Okay, this is my last post tonight! I just had to share a couple more pics of our cutie patootie. Here he is in his "M is for Monkey" outfit that the Drs. Long sent him. My mom purchased the too cute camouflage flip-flops. Don't they look like they were made to go together? The flip-flops don't stay on him for very long--I think they're still a tad too big, but I couldn't help but take a couple of pictures of his tiny little feet in them!

The Hat

I bought this hat (size 6-12 mos) for Will when he was about 4 or 5 months old thinking he would be able to wear it soon after I bought it. He finally grew into it in the past few weeks! We went on a walk last Sunday and he wore his hat for the first time to shade his little peepers :) He is such a good hat baby--he never tries to take them off. And I think he looks pretty darn cute in them, too!

The Number 12

I thought it was about time to post some new pics of our boy. So here they are! These were taken last Sunday. I want everyone to look at how cute this outfit is with the red plaid shirt and olive green pants. When I bought this outfit I was so excited because it was just cute and plain with no numbers or dogs or trucks, etc. printed on it. I took it home and hung it in Will's closet. I got it out a few weeks later to dress Will in it and what did I find when I took the shirt on the hanger?? A HUGE number 12 on the back!! They ruined a perfectly cute Sunday outfit with the number 12. Why did the clothing designers feel the need to put a number 12 on this perfectly cute shirt? I have no earthly idea. It seems like every little boys' shirt, overalls, pants, or whatever have to have some type of number, dog, truck, train, word such as "woof, vroom," etc. I just wanted a PLAIN shirt for once! I was pretty ticked about it, let me tell ya. Anyway, I have gotten over it and he has worn this outfit on a couple different occasions. But still...

The End is Near!

Refinishing our living room floors--a.k.a. "the never-ending project." Scott began this home improvement marathon by ripping up the carpet over Labor Day weekend. It is now March 1st, and we are beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel! He put the third clear topcoat on yesterday. It looks pretty darn good, too! The next phase of the project is the baseboards and quarter-rounds. Fun fun! Soon we will be able to return the living room furniture to its rightful home.

When this is complete, we will begin yet another floor project--glazing the cement in our den (we severely dislike carpet, in case you couldn't tell!).

P.S. I, Scott, do not approve of the title "the never-ending project" due to its derogatory nature. It took way longer than expected, but I had to wait until Lauren and Will would be gone before I stank up the house with stain fumes and urethane fumes. I was trying to be health conscious.
