Spanking

Well, Will got his first major spanking today (that I administered, that is). We were at the Malletts' house and were about to leave but Will snuck away from me and started to crawl into Ryland's bedroom (I had just removed him from there a few seconds prior). He got quite angry and screamed at me. He also bit me, and quite intentionally, I must say. I still have the bite marks, more than an hour and a half later. My natural instincts kicked in and I spanked his leg. Oh, how he wailed. Oh, how it broke my heart! I hated to do that, but he bit me! Hard!! I will definitely have a bruise. Anyway, just a little side note for today.

I posted a few other things this weekend on both blogs, so be sure and scroll down to see what you might have missed! And to those anxiously awaiting the video of Will's first steps, I am still working on it. Google isn't being as cooperative as I'd hoped. Maybe when Scott gets back from his "guy trip" to Six Flags, we can get it figured out!

Words

"No!"

I'm starting to hear that a lot. Will has learned the word no, and what it means. He often says no to me or Scott when we say something he doesn't want to hear. He also uses this word when he is playing with something with which he knows he shouldn't. It's quite comical in a way.

I started a list of the words he can say the other day. They include, but are not limited to: mama, dada, dog, book, ball, car, cow, Bible, phone, light, milk, more, no, bye-bye, cool/cold, wow, poop, flower, star, circle, shoe, and cat. Some he still can't pronounce very well, but he is definitely saying them. It is quite fun to watch him learn new words and how to form them. He's getting to be such a little boy! Soon he will be talking in complete sentences.

To close...some more pictures of Will walking, this time with out furniture nearby:

Walking

At camp--yes, I know, the teachers have it pretty good...couches, TV, dvd player...we really like to "rough it," don't we?

In the junkiest corner of the house with cute baseball outfit and shoes!

Walking from the coffee table to Mama.

Will started walking last week at camp! Of course, in these pictures it just looks like standing, but he's doing it! Yea! He is still pretty shaky and finds it faster to crawl, but I think he is determined to master the task. Without a doubt, he'll catch on very quickly and be running around soon! Watch out!

Goofing Around

Some pics of Will goofing around with Daddy at Mountain View Christian Camp (where we were all last week!) :

Creation

This one reminded me of Michaelangelo's Sistine Chapel painting of the Creation of Adam...

Birthday Suit

Yes, I know it is well past Will's birthday, but I realized I never put up a picture of the professional photo we had done for his birthday. I wanted a picture of him in his birthday suit and a party hat...so here you go. I know, one day he will kill me for all the naked pictures I have of him, but too bad. I'm the one who calls the shots right now and I like them. So there! :)

Anyway...ain't he just precious?

"Cow?"

I am looking out my bedroom windows (while standing on my new bed!) hoping to see some cows. No luck right now!

Hi, Mama!

I know what this thing is for...I'm sleepy-peepy. Is it time for bed, yet?

Toofy Grin

Look at all my teeth! I have eight and it looks like I might be getting a couple more very soon!

Close up!

You Can't Ride in My Little Red Wagon...

Will got a Radio Flyer wagon for his birthday and we still hadn't taken any pictures of him in it! So, here are the promised pictures of Will in his little red wagon...

Peek-a-boo...I see you!

Will LOVES pushing and pulling the wagon and walking with it. He is such a great assisted walker...now he just needs to take that confident first step!

(and yes, we know our yard needs mowing!! we've been busy!)

And finally, one of Daddy pulling Will in the wagon...so much to be seen!

More Family on the Fourth

Blogger stopped letting me upload pictures to the last post, so I am hoping that by starting a new one, it will let me finish what I started! Here are some more pictures of our wet fourth of July!

Playing Cranium! Left to right: Aunt Gail, cousin Baylor, Aunt Stephanie, cousin Brooklyn, my aunt's neice, Shelby, Me, and cousin Jason.

Pictured from left to right are: Great-uncle Eugene, Grandma Glenda, Grandpa Roy, and Uncle Steve. Evidently, Steve was showing Grandpa something about his phone :)

Left to right: Great-aunt Nelda (also my brother's new boss!), Great-uncle Tom (Ruthie's husband and owner of the house), Mom, and Great-aunt Faye.

Uncle Steve and Will. There was a cuter one of Will touching his moustache, but it was blurry :(

We had a great Fourth! Hope you all did, too!

Fantastic (Flooded) Fourth

Kendall and his friends Justin and Katie cleaning fish in the boat slip...they kept right on fishing through the storm. You can see the rain still coming down outside.
Kendall, Justin, and Katie cleaning their catch. You can see the back of the lakehouse in the background. It's an awesome house!
I took this picture through the porch screen. You can't even really see the lake, let alone the land on the other side! This storm came on fast and furious. There was a boat out on the water not too far away from the house...I wonder what happened to them.

Because of the rain, we stayed "inside" (actually, here we are still out on the enclosed porch) and played games. Pictured here are my great-aunt Ruthie (it's her house) and cousin Jason. The curly head in the corner is my little cousin Brooklyn.

For some reason, Will became fascinated with his tongue on July 4th. He would stick out over and over again. The fad didn't last more than a couple of days, but we did get a shot or two with that cute little pink tongue sticking out!
