ENT

No, I'm not referring to the tree creatures from The Lord of the Rings...I'm talking about the Ear, Nose, and Throat doctor visit we had this morning!

The doctor was very nice and said that Will was one of the most cooperative 11 month-olds he'd ever encountered. That made us feel good! He looked in both of Will's ears and said they looked very clear. He said that right now, he doesn't see the need for tubes. He said it is the end of ear infection season and Will might be outgrowing them. I was pretty surprised; I expected him to say that we definitely needed to get some tubes in those ears. But, for now, we wait! If Will has another ear infection in the near future, we will reconsider the tubes. We also learned more about the procedure (he showed us some pictures), so we feel better about it if we do need to pursue that in the future. He also told us more about allergy testing if it looks like we need to do that later on, too. It was a good visit, with good news--praise God!

Thank you to everyone who has been praying for Will and his little ears; they are working!

Big Heart, Big Sky, Big Spring

Big Heart, Big Sky, Big Spring--our town motto! A few things that make Big Spring beautiful...

I'm getting sleepy...

My favorite place to ride...on dad's shoulders!

Take a Little Dip

Will's first encounter with "lake" water.

Picnic in the Park

Just chillin' with my shades on.

Today we went to Comanche Trail Park here in Big Spring for a little picnic. We had a great time being outdoors. Here are some highlights of our afternoon.

Cousins

Will and his cousin Cade meet for the first time! Cade will be two in June.

Buckethead

Will had lots of fun playing with my grandma's Tupperware. He successfully dirtied up about 20 pieces! Here he is, living it up, Tupperware-style.

Easter Fun

We traveled to San Antonio this weekend to my grandma's house for Easter. It was a good trip, but much too short (the visiting part, not the driving part!).

Here we are, the little family, on Easter Sunday.
Will is proudly wearing the Easter outfit his Nana and Grandpa brought him and I am holding his custom-made Easter basket. It came complete with three eggs and a (fake) chick. How cute! He had an egg hunt here in the living room after his nap.

Mmm...yummy pecan shells!

I don't like the way this feels, Mom!

Braves Fan

Yesterday, Will wore a very special outfit; an official MLB Braves onesie. The Braves are Scott's favorite team, as well as one of our favorite college professors, Dr. Jesse Long. This picture was taken especially to send to Dr. Long.

Will had just eaten a dinner of carrots and pears, and evidently the carrots didn't wipe completely off! We also couldn't get him to smile for the camera last night...there was just too much going on (we decided to take it outside). He has only sat in grass a couple of times and he didn't seem too fond of the way it felt against his skin (as you can see, it isn't lush green grass, but the in-between crunchy, wintery grass). He also discovered leaves and pecan shells and decided to give them a little taste. It was quite comical to watch his reaction!

News

I don't have a picture to post right now, but I will give you some Will news; maybe it will suffice for now!

Yesterday was Will's 11 month birthday. In less than a month, he will be a year old! I have already been busy buying supplies for his birthday party. I know he won't remember it, but it will be fun nonetheless.

He has been pulling up for a little over a week now. He's gotten quite proficient at it. He's also taken to crawling up on his hands and knees just about all the time now. He's growing so fast. Yesterday, I went to his babysitter's house (yes, we finally found one for Mondays!!) to pick him up and he was sitting up very straight and tall in a little booster seat, eating Cheerios. He just looked so big.

Because of his recent mobilization skills, he has really started to get into everything. We have some of our cabinets "kid-proofed," but not all of them. One of my major goals for the week is to get those done. Last night, I was cooking supper (yes! me! cooking!!) and he was trying to get all the pots out of the cabinet behind me. I put him in his playyard and he didn't think that was as good an idea as I did. He made that quite clear.

In related news, I will be cooking again tonight. Tonight's menu is pancakes, eggs, and bacon. I am going to attempt to make pancakes from scratch instead of using Bisquick. So if anyone out there has an awesome pancake recipe, bring it on.

I'll try to post a new picture of Will soon. Until then~~

Funny Hair

Scott and Will napping together (this is how I found them when I came home from work yesterday!)

Will digging through his toy basket

Will "reading" his book

I look pretty bad in this picture (it was taken at the end of a long day!), but it's still pretty cute of the two of us.

Feeling Better

Will is feeling better; yea! We have an appointment with the ENT on April 24th. We'll see what he has to say.

In other news, this week we finally made the decision that I am going to stay home with Will next year. We feel it will be best for his health and development if I am home with him. I am very excited about it! I've always wanted to be a stay-at-home-mom. I have told all the necessary people at school, so it's official.

Here are some pictures of Will crawling on all fours, more of him reading, and just some other fun shots. I hope everyone has a great weekend!
